Making courses pass/fail for the remainder of the semester at High Point University

The Issue

I would like to propose that professors reach out to their students and ask them to decide whether or not the rest of the course will be graded as pass/fail. Due to the nature of the situation, I do not think that it is in the best interest of the students to hold us to the same standards we were held to at the beginning of the semester. At the beginning of the semester, we had all the materials that we needed to have a successful year; a quiet place to study free of distractions, textbooks and school materials, friends to study with, and the ability to seek help from our professors in person. The majority of students are from out of state and are now attempting to take on full course loads while trying to find the time to pack up their dorms at HPU.
