Cancel Telangana UG Exams and Promote Students

The Issue

In the present situation, cancellation of the UG examinations is utmost necessary, due to the following reasons:
1. Online classes and assignments have been proved of no worth, compared to the traditional teaching method.

2. Most of the students, have left to their hometowns (some have gone to Andhra Pradesh) expecting the lockdown to end in a week or so, and now they are stuck there.
These students neither have proper resources to study, nor the facilities to come back and stay in the city.

3. As most of the parents have stopped working due to the lockdown, and many have received paycuts, lost their jobs. They are not able to pull off their household needs and paying examination fee is a burden on them.

4. There are high chances of families getting affected because of the student who has come home, after meeting many people.

5. The government or the universities have only assured physical distancing in the examination Hall, but there is no assurance before/after the exam and during the travel.

6. Shortage of sanitizers, masks and other sanitation equipments.

7. There is huge mental pressure building up on the students, as there is a lot of syllabus that needs to be covered without proper resources and teaching.

8. Transportation to Exam Center is difficult, as no public transport is working in the city.
Conducting exams during the present situation would only lead to a steep rise in the number of cases, and curbing the disease would become impossible. 'Community transmission' would be unavoidable, if we don't take care of this and that is very dangerous for the state.
