High cost allowance for basingstoke

The Issue

We work for NHS and living in basingstoke creates  financial constraints and are finding it hard to meet the daily living. Most residents from London and Reading working in IT sector move to basingstoke as most of them work from home and finding easy to commute, looking basingstoke a cheaper and  better place than london. Having researched the prices of housing cost in basingstoke are getting people maddened and unaffordable. As a health care professional, providing public service through a work load that is challenging and unmanageable we are not provided with any extra compensation other than helping ourselves doing extra shifts to live in the town.
The housing market is saturated with rentals from landlords pushing rentals going up every year in line with inflation.

The average property price in Basingstoke city is £332k, the median price is £300k. The average price increased by £14.7k (5%) over the last twelve months. The price of an established property is £335k. The price of a newly built property is £182k. There were 1.2k property sales and sales dropped by 36.9% (-824 transactions). Most properties were sold in the £300k-£400k price range with 292 (24.4%) properties sold, followed by £250k-£300k price range with 261 (21.8%) properties sold.( pumplot.co.uk)

With the average price of £332k, Basingstoke is the 28. most pricey city out of 113 England and Wales' cities.

As above said reasons most of the health care employees are moving out of Basingstoke which apparently creates a high staff turnover in hampshire hospitals .

So as NHS staffs we are looking forward basingstoke to have High cost allowance under fringe area .
