On 17th October 2019, convicted child rapist Graeme Russell Lawrence (disgraced former Anglican Dean of Newcastle) was sentenced to 8 years in Prison for the rape of a 15 year old boy. 

Lawrence is the holder of the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).

We call on the Prime Minister to immediately instruct the Honours Secretariat to strip Lawrence of that honour. 

It is an affront to all survivors of Child Sexual Abuse and legitimate holders of OAMs that Lawrence continues to hold that honour

Newcastle City Council acted swiftly and properly to strip this criminal of his Freeman of The City and Citizen of the Year titles.

We call on the  act swifGovernor toGeneral to act swiftly as well.
