The battle to save the homes of the 36 vulnerable long-term residents of Furlong Close in Wiltshire is still being fought.

Hft, the charity which runs the site, has now given Wiltshire Council notice from 19 May this year, accusing the Council leadership of “lying” about the Council’s leading role in the decision and breaching its statutory duties to the residents.

A ray of light is that Hft offered last month to either sell or lease the site to the Council, to allow another operator to be brought in to run Furlong Close and save the residents the terrible trauma and distress of being forcibly removed from their settled and happy homes.

The clock is ticking down to 19 May, however, and the Council and Hft have not taken decisive action to take up this opportunity to save Furlong Close.  We need your help to put pressure on the Council and Hft to get together NOW and do the deal to save Furlong Close for its current and future residents.  Please, help us by:

·      Visiting our crowdfunding page at To prevent the closure of Furlong Close, Wiltshire - a Community crowdfunding project in Rowde by Trish Gange (crowdfunder.co.uk) and give just a little to help fund our campaign through this next critical stage;

·      Emailing the Leader of Wiltshire Council at philip.whitehead@wiltshire.gov.uk and the CEO of Hft at kirsty.mathews@hft.org.uk asking them to ACT NOW TO SAVE FURLONG CLOSE.
