Hey CUPE… leave our kids alone!
Say no to CUPE using our kids wellbeing as bargaining chips!
After a difficult 2 years of pandemic lockdowns, education disruptions, lack of socialization and isolation and real concerns about the physiological impact this has had on our youth. The fact that CUPE has chosen to focus their leverage and further threaten their chance of a normal childhood is appalling. Our youth are our future… not bargaining chips!
In this fragile social time, the impact of school closures, cancelled activities and limited services goes far beyond contract negotiations or the social inconvenience they are attempting to impose. This is exploiting the vulnerability of a society attempting to recover from the PTSD we all suffered during the Covid experience.
CUPE and any other union that willfully chooses to exploit this fact should be both ashamed and held accountable! Unions were founded on the premise of preventing the exploration of one group by another.
This is petition is not about political ideology or the the rights of workers to negotiate or protest... it’s about saying ‘no’ to those who choose to use their influence to limit our children’s access to education and opportunity in the service of their own interests.
