His name is Deolnte Thomas , hes a father of a little boy who thinks the world of him, a loving brother & an amazing son. He was misrepresented, & FAILED by a system designed not only protect and serve the people but also to stand on liberty and justice for ALL !

On the morning of July, 9th, 2014 he was arrested on false accusations that he had shot three people. They said the shooting took place due to an alleged argument between Delonte and another individual who was at party on 35th and Fremont Ave N, They accused him of leaving the party after the argument and returning wit a gun and firing it at 3 individuals.

However at the same time the shot spotter picked up the shots being fired Delonte and another individual were seen on camera walking from a relatives home on 36th and Girard  to his home on 34th and Dupont. as they passed the camera the clothes Delonte was seen wearing were to tight fitting to conceal a firearm with an extended clip with it being noticed.

A victim had identified him stating that he was the shooter and that she had just recently seen him in the hospital and that is how she knew who he was, however a Minneapolis police officer confirmed that Delonte was in an interrogation room with her and her partner on that same day and at the same time the victim said she seen him in the hospital. 

The clothing that Delonte was seen wearing on camera were also tested by the BCA for BLS and GSR both of which came back NEGATIVE. there was also another man who victims identified as the actual shooter, Not only did the Detectives fail to follow up on this lead Delonte's attorney did as well. 

These facts are just a few out of the bunch that would have surfaced multiple counts of reasonable doubt during his lengthy trial had not only the detectives and prosecution team did their job but his lawyer as well.

He's currently paid out seven to eight thousand dollars in obtaining paperwork and other official and legal documents, Which the state has yet to release to him in their entirety. This petition was created with the intentions on getting it presented to a judge in effort to have justice served the right way, and bring an innocent man home to his child and loving family.

As of July,14,2020 he has been incarcerated for 6 years, his anticipated release year is 2033 !!  The purpose of this petition is to get the judge to see that situations like this happen to people every day and they go unnoticed , unresolved, and unspoken on these issues are real and the lives of the incarcerated matter to the people outside of those prisons, and their voices need to be heard !!
