Help William "Liam" Lyon get accepted as a patient at Texas Childrens Hospital
The Issue
I am writing today to ask if you would support this petition in getting William "Liam" Lyon accepted as a patient into Texas Children's Hospital (TCH).
William "Liam" Lyon is a 14 month old little boy who was diagnosed with hypo plastic left heart syndrome. He had a successful heart transplant on 7/25/2011, however he also has had to fight some uphill battles. Because of the issues he's had Liam has visited several of the top notch hospitals in the country and is currently in The Children's Hospital at St. Francis in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The family has been told that he needs a special team to help him finish this battle and the best are at Texas Children Hospital in Houston. However, as it turns out that securing medical care in this country is not as easy as making an informed choice, complying with insurance requirements and fulfilling all requests. The Lyons have moved mountains to do their part, yet still they await news that Texas Children’s Hospital will accept Liam. At this time they have been told that they simply need one accepting doctor. While TCH is reviewing the case, Liam took a turn for the worst last week (4/21/2012) and his family was told there was nothing left to be done, so they arranged for all family members to come and say their last goodbyes. Well, as it turns out Liam was not ready to give up!!!! As it stands now, we are still waiting for TCH. So I ask of you, what if this were your child, wouldn't you move mountains to save their life?
