Help us say no to a Hindu and Sikh crematorium in Scraptoft

As a member of the Scraptoft community and its surrounding villages, I find myself deeply concerned about the recent planning appeal for the construction of a crematorium in our area. This project, if permitted, poses significant risks not only to our environment but also to the safety and well-being of our community.
The proposed site for the crematorium is alarmingly close to Scraptoft's residential areas and neighbouring villages, which could have far-reaching negative effects. The first issue at hand is the proximity to homes and local amenities. A crematorium could impact property values and deter potential new residents, affecting the local economy and the community's growth.
Furthermore, the infrastructure around Scraptoft is insufficient to handle increased traffic flow, which a new crematorium would undoubtedly bring. The existing highways are not equipped to safely manage the anticipated rise in vehicular movement, which poses a danger to locals, particularly pedestrians and cyclists. The risk of accidents and congestion could escalate dramatically if this crematorium is built.
