Help Us Find Julio and Raise Awareness to Urge Local Authorities

The Issue

My family and I are hoping to find my uncle, Julio Chavez Montoya. He has been missing for since January 29th, last seen at his job in the Financial Building in Oakland. We have gone to BPD but have let us know that they cannot take the case considering that he worked and lived in Oakland, the case needed to be picked up by Oakland Police Department and at the moment OPD is unreachable, has been no help and we’ve unfortunately made no progress in trying to find Julio. We have been calling OPD multiple times a day trying to get at least an update on the case or any sign that it is even being looked into, but haven’t even gotten anyone to answer our calls. Julio’s birthday was this past February 12th, his parents in Guatemala were expecting a call from him to wish him a happy birthday, but never got that call. We are exhausting every available source we can to try to get any help in finding Julio. When a person goes missing time is of the essence of doing anything possible to try to find them, unfortunately Julio is one many who go missing and in moments of helplessness and pain we hope we can rely on authorities for help but can’t even begin there. This needs to change! We believe that there is power in numbers and maybe if we come together now we raise awareness on this issue!
