We are proud to announce that we have already secured £5,000 in seed funding from the council. This funding has allowed us to begin Phase 1 of our project — purchasing the essential equipment needed to launch our community events. We are currently in the process of buying consoles, gaming equipment, accessories, and other resources that will help bring Local Area Network to life.

Now, we need Aberdeen’s support for Phase 2.

While pop-up events and temporary workshops are a fantastic starting point, our long-term vision is much bigger. We do not want this to be just an occasional event or temporary setup — we want to create a permanent community hub where people can regularly come together, socialise, game, and feel part of a supportive community.

A permanent location would allow us to:

🎮 Run regular gaming and social events throughout the week
🤝 Provide a safe, stable, and welcoming environment for adults
🧩 Help reduce social isolation and improve mental wellbeing
☕ Create an inclusive social space that doesn’t revolve around alcohol
🌟 Build a long-term community hub for gamers, hobbyists, and social groups in Aberdeen
📍 Offer consistency and accessibility instead of relying on temporary venues
