The issue

Our Macarthur region community is losing a space that meant everything to us.
With the closure of Maximum Skating, local families, children, teens, and adults across the Macarthur region have lost a safe, affordable, and inclusive place to stay active, socialise, and build confidence. Roller skating connected people across generations and abilities — providing a space where everyone belongs.

This closure also deeply affects our roller hockey community.
The rink at Maximum Skating was the only one in NSW large enough to properly support roller hockey training and development. Without this facility, local players and teams are left without a viable space to train, develop skills, and participate in a growing sport that offers opportunity, structure, and teamwork.

If nothing changes, our community will be left without a place to skate.
We risk losing more than just a rink — we risk losing the energy and momentum of a passionate and growing skating community. Without a dedicated indoor facility, roller sports become harder, less safe, and less inclusive. The benefits — physical health, mental wellbeing, youth engagement, and social connection — are too valuable to give up.

Now is the time to act.
We're asking Camden Council, local MPs, and community leaders to support the development of a new indoor roller skating facility in the Macarthur region. We are ready to work with council to explore solutions. Please sign and share this petition to show that our community wants to keep the wheels turning and ensure roller skating and hockey remain alive in the Macarthur region and beyond.
