Help STOP the re-zoning at the Winchester Traveling Trail

The Issue

The proposed zoning change from P-1 (professional offices) to B-4 (business) at the Winchester Traveling Trail (2020 Bypass Rd) fundamentally contradicts the Winchester-Clark County Comprehensive Plan for 2024-2044 and disregards public feedback that helped shape this vision for the future of our community spaces.

Please help us urge City Commissioners to reject this change.

A B-4 zoning change will trigger large-scale commercial development. Many are concerned this could lead to:

  • Worsened traffic congestion on Colby Road
  • Additional stops and traffic lights
  • Increased noise and light pollution
  • Reduced property values for surrounding homes
  • Stormwater  failures impacting residents on Southeast side of property
  • No potential for future public use

In the Comprehensive Plan, this area is clearly designated for Public/Semi Public community-serving purposes: Parks, trails, schools, libraries, community centers, religious facilities, police/fire/EMS, and government buildings. A B-4 zoning change is incompatible with this 20-year plan.
