Pennsylvania State Senator Street and Schwank are co-sponsoring a bill to ban Delta 8 THC, a cannabinoid that the hemp industry and its consumers rely on. 

Many hemp-derived cannabinoids, including Delta 8 THC, are federally protected by the 2018 Farm Bill. As of November 2021, the DEA announced that they reviewed information about the cannabinoid and deemed it not a controlled substance. 

If passed, this bill will create a ripple effect that would cripple hemp farmers, processors, CBD store owners, and other retail shops that heavily rely on the sale of these products. But the people who would most be affected are the customers that use products with Delta 8 for PTSD, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, opioid addiction, alcoholism, and many other ailments. Through the use of this cannabinoid derived from the hemp plant, they can treat their conditions, and if the ban were enacted, they would no longer have access to their own personalized treatments.

As a Pennslyvania CBD store owner, I see customers every day who are living their best lives now because of Delta 8. I ask the Senators to recognize who the face of Delta 8 is and reconsider this bill. You will be hurting your constituents who have found this plant medicine beneficial to everyday life.
