Dear Friends and Supporters,

My name is Pragati Shrivastava, and I am reaching out to you in what has become the most challenging time in our family's life on behalf of my sister Shweta Khare and with her consent and approval.

My beloved sister, Shweta Khare, a beautiful and loving woman of 47, has been recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer – Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of gastric cancer.

Shweta is the heart of our family. Since her diagnosis, our world has been turned upside down. She lives in London and has been receiving treatment at a Cancer Hospital in London, but the experience has been deeply disheartening. Shweta can no longer eat or drink due to the nature of her cancer, and the delays in providing vital nutrition through a TPN or NJ feeding tube have been agonizing.

Her first chemotherapy was delayed by nearly six weeks after her diagnosis, due to long waiting times and slow processes. Despite all this, Shweta remains incredibly strong and determined to fight. She has endured four rounds of chemotherapy so far, but just last week, her doctors informed us that her cancer is progressing . They have decided to stop her chemotherapy, discontinue her TPN, and move her to hospice care, offering only saline and pain management. The prognosis we’ve been given is heartbreaking—4 to 8 weeks.

At this moment, Shweta’s greatest wish is to return to India, to seek further treatment and be surrounded by her loved ones. We have contacted an airlift organization, and they have agreed to transfer her on a stretcher, under the supervision of a doctor and paramedics, on a commercial flight. However, in order to make this possible, we urgently need the oncology team at the Cancer Hospital she is admitted to,  to sign the medical forms and provide a 'fit to fly' certificate to get clearance from the airline.

Tragically, the hospital has refused. Despite our reassurances that Shweta will be under constant medical supervision from the time of her discharge, they have denied our request, insisting on transferring her to hospice care instead. We have made it clear that Shweta is willing to travel at her own risk, but their refusal persists.

We are now in a race against time. Shweta is deteriorating physically, and without any further treatment here in London, her emotional and psychological well-being is suffering as well. Her only hope lies in going to India, where she can be close to her family and explore alternative treatments. I am desperate to fulfill her wish, to give her that chance—no matter how slim—to keep fighting this cruel disease.

Please, we ask for your support in any way you can help by signing this petition so we can transfer her to India on humanitarian grounds, to make this possible for Shweta. We are clinging to hope, and time is running out.

Thank you for your kindness and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

With gratitude,
Pragati Shrivastava
