His videos on YouTube.

Sherif Gaber spoke about the myth of the hijab under the title "The Heresy of Hijab in Islam," with a duration of 33:30. He provides examples of how the hijab is used in some Arab and Islamic countries to prevent women from education, employment, and participation in public life.

Sherif Gaber argues that the hijab does not prevent sexual harassment of women but can be a tool for exploitation. He presents statistics showing that the highest rates of sexual harassment in the world are found in some countries with strict hijab laws.

Sherif Gaber defends a woman's right to choose to wear the hijab or not without coercion or pressure from society or family. He emphasizes the importance of respecting women's freedom to make their own decisions about their bodies and clothing.

The video has garnered 991,782 views (as of the writing of this report).

And some other videos in which Sherif Gaber exposes lies, deceit, and the terrorist ideas propagated by clerics such as Zakir Naik and Abdullah Rushdi.

Also, the famous video that spread like wildfire, in which Sherif defended the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals. The video garnered over a million views but unfortunately was deleted from his channel.

His first imprisonment story.

Gaber enrolled at Suez Canal University in Ismailia as a sociology student. Initially, he was regarded as one of the top students in his class. However, things took a turn when he engaged in a verbal altercation with a psychology teacher who asserted that homosexuality is a sin and advocated for extreme punishment for gay individuals. Several months later, some of Gaber's Facebook posts were brought to the attention of the university rector by fellow students, leading to police involvement.

At 3:00 a.m. on October 27, 2013, Gaber's home was raided by three armored state security cars and an army vehicle. State security agents conducted a thorough search of his apartment, confiscating his belongings, including academic materials, books, electronics, and money. Gaber was then taken into custody, where he claimed to have been mistreated by prison guards.

On December 3, 2013, Gaber was released from jail after paying a hefty sum of £E7,500. This amount covered charges related to contempt of religion and spreading what was deemed as immoral values and disruptive thoughts. Despite his release, Gaber faced ongoing legal proceedings and encountered difficulties with his studies, suspecting that his teachers deliberately sabotaged his academic performance.

On February 16, 2015, Gaber, aged 22 at the time, was convicted and sentenced to one year in prison. He had the option to appeal by paying £E1,000, but instead, he chose to go into hiding. During this period, the university rector resigned and claimed to have no recollection of the incident involving Gaber.

Gaber's whereabouts remained unknown, but he continued to produce videos advocating for science and human rights on YouTube. In March 2018, Gaber hinted at an imminent arrest via a tweet, urging his supporters to remain calm and promising to continue creating content even if imprisoned.

On May 5, 2018, Gaber was once again arrested and detained. His arrest was part of a wave of arrests following the reelection of President El-Sisi in March 2018, which also included the apprehension of another satirical video maker named Shady Abuzaid.

Another video to save his life.

Sherif Gaber posted a video on January 19, 2019, titled "Help Me Escape Egypt," where he narrates his entire story to the public and asks for help in leaving Egypt. However, all attempts failed, and he disappeared for a whole year.

Sherif Gaber Reappears After a Long Absence" on May 8, 2020. In this remarkable video, Sherif Gaber portrays three characters: the presenter, Sherif Gaber himself, and the sheikh and the ordinary Muslim. With remarkable intelligence, Sherif Gaber illustrates how this society is contradictory, where the sheikh detests someone leaving the religion, considering it a loss for them, while the ordinary Muslim says you can leave the religion as you wish but do not criticize it publicly. Towards the end of the video, you see the sheikh and the ordinary Muslim, who are of the same faith, arguing and debating.

Then Sherif Gaber continued to upload videos from time to time, despite writing on his personal Facebook and Twitter pages that he was facing difficulties in his life. However, he persisted in making videos because these were things he loved and they helped ease the bitterness of time for him.

His second imprisonment story.

He wrote on his Facebook page (I couldn't find the post) that the next three months are crucial in his life, and either he will be imprisoned or he will succeed in escaping from Egypt. After that, a 45-second video called “I chose to live” was published where Sherif Gaber did not say anything, but he was just crying. We didn't hear anything about him until today when we all woke up to one shocking news, as you have now inferred, that this poor young man will be imprisoned for a full five years.

Breaking Chains: Uniting for Justice and Freedom

In a world where prejudice and discrimination still cast their shadow, we stand together, united in our quest for justice and equality. To all atheists, the LGBT community, and every individual who dares to dream of a future free from oppression, we extend our hand in solidarity. It's time to speak up, to act with compassion and determination.

At the heart of our cause lies the story of Sharif Gaber, a symbol of resilience and defiance against tyranny. Locked behind bars for daring to express his beliefs, he embodies the struggle faced by so many who dare to challenge the status quo. But his imprisonment is not just his burden to bear—it is a reflection of the injustices endured by countless others who are marginalized and persecuted for simply being who they are.

Yet, in the face of adversity, there is hope. With every voice raised in protest, with every act of kindness and support, we inch closer to a world where freedom reigns supreme. It's a world where individuals are not judged by the color of their skin, their gender, their sexual orientation, or their beliefs, but by the content of their character.

Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can break down the walls that separate us and build bridges of understanding and acceptance. Let us join hands and lift each other up, knowing that our strength lies in our unity.

The road ahead may be long and arduous, but we will not waver in our commitment to justice. We will continue to fight for the rights of every individual, no matter how daunting the odds may seem. For in the darkest of times, it is our collective resolve that shines the brightest.

So, let us rally together, let us raise our voices in unison, and let us work tirelessly until Sharif Gaber is free and every person is able to live a life of dignity and respect. Our journey towards a better tomorrow begins today. Will you join us?
