Help Save Oregon’s Injured Wildlife Care Network - Save Chintimini Wildlife Center!
The Issue
For more than 30 years, the Chintimini Wildlife Center in Corvallis has been a lifeline for injured and orphaned animals, including owls, turtles, foxes, eagles, and countless others. Now it’s at risk of closing for good due to shrinking public funding and rising costs.
Chintimini isn’t just a clinic, it’s a one-of-a-kind facility. It’s the only wildlife center within 100 miles that takes in reptiles and amphibians. And it doesn’t just treat animals, it teaches kids, trains volunteers, and helps communities reconnect with the natural world.
But with federal and state funding cuts hitting environmental nonprofits hard, Chintimini is struggling. It needs to raise $150,000 by December 31 or face painful service cuts — including turning away animals from surrounding counties and shutting down its educational programs.
That means fewer rescued animals. Fewer second chances. And fewer opportunities for kids to learn about the wildlife that surrounds them.
We’re calling on:
- State and local officials
- The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife
- Benton County and surrounding regional governments
…to step up and provide emergency support to help Chintimini stay open.
If we lose Chintimini, we lose a vital part of Oregon’s environmental care network. We lose a place where wild lives are given a second chance. And we lose a center that teaches us what it really means to coexist with the creatures who share this land.
Sign this petition if you believe wildlife deserves care, and if you believe Corvallis deserves to keep this sanctuary alive.
