The picture shows 14 vehicles queueing close to Ashchurch School during the evening rush.
Graystoke Land proposes to build up to 175 new homes on farmland just south of Pamington with access from Seven Bends.
Modelling in their traffic assessment predicts that 18 vehicles from Pamington could queue at Aston Cross during the morning rush (Maximum Mean Queue 8.9 - As a rule of thumb, extreme queues could well be 50-100% bigger than the mean value; especially for single-digit MMQs).
Also, I am awaiting answers to questions on the validity of the some of the numbers in the traffic assessment, but I don’t expect to hear back before the new year.
The traffic assessment suggests that primary school provision is available at Ashchurch School; however, they currently have 138 pupils with 3 available spaces. The nearest alternative infant and junior school provision is in Northway. You don’t need me to describe the challenges of getting from Pamington to Northway schools during the morning (or evening) rush!
This link provides access to the Pamington proposal, where you can provide feedback to the developer; such consultation is now an important part of the planning process.
