In 2016, U-Haul Moving & Storage of King Farm opened at 1355 Piccard Drive to serve the residents of Rockville, Md. It has been our team’s privilege to meet your DIY moving needs through our truck- and trailer-sharing services and retail supplies over the last six years.

Unfortunately, we have been delayed indefinitely in addressing one of our customers’ biggest demands at this store.

Our plans to provide 350 state-of-the-art indoor self-storage rooms with climate-control options and high-tech security features have been blocked by the city, citing existing moratoriums. As a result, most of our building sits empty and without purpose while our customers continue to ask about storage availability.

As the King Farm community has grown, more people are making this beautiful area of the city their home. The result is an increasing need for quality self-storage from a trusted name.

Our goal is unchanged. We wish to create 700 self-storage rooms encompassing 60,000 square feet so that residents can free up space in their homes, closets, garages and attics; store important belongings for safekeeping; and provide organizational relief at an affordable cost. Neighboring businesses are equally dependent upon our facilities for their operational storage needs.

At present, one Rockville City Council Member agrees with U-Haul offering self-storage at our store. The rest of the Board needs to hear from our community. Would you like to see the people of Rockville gain access to more and better services?
