I have almost completed sending the 1st official letter on this topic, to Ministries of Environment from 11 states, 2 Russian environmental NGOs as well as the European Parliament (ENVI Committee) and the UN Environment Assembly.

I have been unsuccessful so far with reaching the Ministry of Climate Change of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. But I will keep trying to reach them.

So why these choices?

The European states approached are either neighbouring states of the Russian Federation -though Romania isn't directly neighbour, it made sense that my ministry knew what I've been up to.

The non-European states have been doing massive afforestation projects in the past years; some of those initiatives have reached the Guinness World Record Book.

Next up: a special letter to the European Commission. One targeted at legislative & financial support in this situation.
