Help Push USC to Provide a Living Wage For It’s Hospitality, Housing , and Hotel Workers

The Issue

The University of Southern California (USC) announced in 2022 that it would invest $700 million in faculty and staff over a five-year period from 2022-2026. Despite this promise, USC's hospitality workers, housing custodians, and hotel workers have not received a raise since 2022. In fact, the only increase they saw was a mere 43 cents that year. Meanwhile, the minimum wage for fast food workers in California is set to reach $20 within weeks. It is clear that USC's wages do not reflect the cost of living or the value of their employees' work.

USC has an obligation to its employees to provide them with fair compensation for their labor. This includes paying them a living wage which aligns with the increasing cost of living in Los Angeles and matches industry standards.

We call on USC to honor its commitment made in 2022 by using part of its $700 million investment towards raising wages for its hospitality workers, housing custodians, and hotel workers. They deserve more than empty promises; they deserve action now.

Please sign this petition urging USC to pay these hardworking individuals what they are worth!
