With the new implications of the DEI executive order introduced by the Trump Administration, our program known as the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program has removed the mentioning of Alaska Native and is now referred to as just ANSEP. This program was initially created to bring more Alaskan Native people to STEM career fields. By taking away the mentioning of Alaska Native, it is potentially erasing the history of this program. Students and staff alike are outraged by this distancing of honoring the whole reason this program was created. Many people joined this program because of this focus on helping Alaskan Native people and the youth of Alaska. Help us let the Trump Administration know the importance of our program and prevent the potential erasing of our programs history.
