Hi everyone
It’s been a hard few days and Julia is now in Yulin with our small team. As we previously reported the brutality continues on the daily at the 3 markets in Yulin. The torture and unaliving of the poor animals takes place in seedy slaughterhouses on the edge of the city. There are also actual dog farms now dotted in the hills in Guangxi Provence and dog meat restaurants are everywhere.
When we challenge traders or butchers they are either indifferent or hostile. But many refuse to let any non local take dogs as they have been ordered by local governments not to deal with us.
A few days back we stopped a small motorbike with some pitiful pups in a rusty cage. We managed the grab them. It was a small victory in an otherwise sad time. The little puppy you see in the photo with Julia is one of the lucky ones. He has not left her side and we will take him safely to our shelter in a few days up north.
We have been trying to protest and you can see from our social media @notodogmeat we have been taking a stand.
Julia managed to record and protest outside a restaurant named Yulin’s oldest crispy dog restaurant. She bravely stood outside with our rescue and made it known dogs are not food.
Change.org have been penalising us and not letting us show the reality as it is. So we can only explain by words and promise you we won’t give up until the cruelty ends.
