Hi everyone
Our team spent 3 weeks in Yulin. We protested, we rescued, and we gathered vital evidence about the situation.

Here is what we learnt.
Dog meat eating - and some cat torture takes place throughout the entire Guangxi region.
There are no live dogs slaughtered in the heavily guarded main markets, but there are extremely brutal slaughterhouses on the outskirts of the city.
There is an increasing number of dog farms —mostly small in size, but some large — in the hills above Yulin. Here, the female dogs are kept in cages, chained for their entire lives, and forced to breed. All the males will be soldwhen they reach 9 months or a year old, and all dogs are fed a diet of rotting rice to bulk them up.
The photo in this update is Mary. She had been held in a rusty cage for nearly 3 years. We finally secured her release, and she is with us now in the hospital in Hebei. The 'farmer' told us that once she was no longer of use, he would throw her to the fighting dogs.
We are sharing all this to demonstrate that dog meat has evolved into an industry and is no longer just a byproduct of stolen pets. There is no animal welfare legislation in China, despite the Ministry of Agriculture stating that dogs must not be raised for livestock purposes. They continue to do so, and not just in Yulin.
Please keep signing our petition. We will shortly hold more street events and letter-writing actions.
Currently, we have over 700 rescues in our care and need of homes. We also have 16 dogs from Yulin, all of which require serious medical attention.
Please help us by donating to our fundraiser or making a donation online
