Dear Friends and Activists,
Christmas is nearly upon us, and we want to thank all of you for your amazing support, your kind donations, sharing posts, and lovely words.
It's been 12 years since we started our campaign, and there have been many highs and lows. People ask us what the best part is and what the worst is. We all know what makes us sad, angry and frustrated, but we never lose hope for change. Your support keeps us going, and everyone in our European teams and in China is deeply grateful.
We know rescue is just the beginning, and we have been afraid our Yulin rescues could freeze this winter, which prompted us to run our winter appeal. Thanks to everyone's generosity and hard work in fundraising, we are just £10,000 short of our target. This amount may sound like a lot, but we have already bought 12 heaters and fuel to warm some of the most fragile kennels. Temperatures are dropping, and we have to break the ice on water bowls each morning.
For us, it is not just about campaign and rescue. We also believe education is key to change, and two days ago, we were delighted to support a big educational event in a rural village in Cambodia for over 160 schoolchildren. Tet Lin, our partner there, made the 9-hour round trip to the village with 3 of our rescues and almost single-handedly hosted a Xmas party that brought light to the kid's eyes and reinforced our message that cruelty to animals is not cool. It was a fantastic success, and the local community was very interested in our work.
As you can see from the photos, everyone is wearing a NoToDogMeat shirt. This gives us hope that we can all make a difference.
