Another one of hundreds of local voices that City of Toronto officials have tried to silence and shame in a terribly undemocratic pandemic political power grab.

On March 10 with zero pre-consultation and zero transparency, local Councillor John Filion led a move to take the green treed parklands that form part of the seniors' homes.

The City claims, but refuses to provide any evidence, that these seniors residence parklands are the ONLY PLACE THEY CAN FIND IN THE ENTIRE CITY to drop 64 prefabricated single person living units for homeless men with serious mental and addiction needs - far away from the vital supports located in downtown Toronto.

Affected residents were kept in the dark while Councillor Filion (who sold his $3M home in the neighborhood and moved away from the community he is supposed to represent) slammed those asking questions as "obnoxious". Worse, the City is asking the Ontario Government to grant it immunity so that citizens will lose all rights to question or appeal this secret process.
