As a parent deeply invested in the growth and development of our local community, I am compelled to voice my concerns about the lack of access to our local showground arena facilities. These facilities are spaces that nurture talent, encourage physical activity and promote community engagement, especially for our children who are being systematically let down.

In the past years, there has been a steady increase in the demand for public recreational spaces. These spaces play a pivotal role in promoting physical activity and health, especially among children. As such, prohibiting these crucial community spaces from the public directly contradicts the objectives of promoting physical activity and community wellness.

In our own community, we have witnessed the disappointment of numerous local children, including my own, when turned away from our local showground arenas. By enabling public recreational use of these facilities, we can reignite our children's dreams, bolster our community's spirit, and cultivate a culture of health and wellness.
