She was just four years old when her world was shattered in a single explosion. The blast killed her mother, baby sister, and brother. Her father was also pulled lifeless from the rubble. Misk is the only survivor.

Buried under concrete and dust, her small body was bruised and broken. Her hands trembled. Her chest was crushed. Her face bloodied. She cried out for her mother — but no one came.

Today, Misk lives in a tent with her grandfather. She no longer draws flowers. She draws planes and bombs. She no longer sings. She waits in silence, afraid of the next explosion.
