I am writing to seek justice for my daughter Rachel who was severly injured and permanently disabled due to a drunk driver's conscious decision to drink and drive. My daughter has, over the last ten months, had over 20 surgeries and her hospital bills now total into the millions. She will never use her left arm again as a result of the injuries from this accident and may not be able to walk fully again. Her once vibrant young life has been stolen from her and her quality of life is severly compromised. Please sign my petition to Judge Bruce Chan urging him to give the offender the maximum prison sentence allowed under California state law as well as the harshest terms of probation alllowed. Nothing can bring my daughter back to me as she once was. She has lost a part of her that no court sentence can replace. But by Judge Chan ordering the maximum sentence allowed by law he will be sending a message to not only the people of the city and county of San Francisco but to the state of California as well. A message that its citizens and courts wil not tolerate drunk driving and injuring innocent people such as Rachel and the message that  by making the conscious decision to drink and drive dire consequences will result.
