My name is Lisa Dendy. I’m a mother. I’m a fighter. And I’ve had to watch fentanyl take everything I love.

My daughter was just 15 when fentanyl entered her life. It came disguised as comfort — laced into pills, handed to her by older men who preyed on her innocence and vulnerability. By the time I realized how far she’d fallen, it had already changed her. It was like a demonic spirit had entered my baby girl.

She was already hurting. The bullying she endured from girls at Amory School was relentless — online torment telling her to kill herself, that she was a waste. On top of that, her father was in and out of prison most of her life. And I was struggling too — trying to keep us afloat during one of the hardest times of our lives.

She overdosed more than once, trying to end the pain. I thank God every day He didn’t take her from me. But fentanyl still stole the light from her eyes. She lost herself. And the system? It failed her.

Now she’s 18 and sitting in jail — treated like a criminal instead of what she really is: a victim. A child who needed help, protection, and healing.

She’s not the only one.

Every day, families like mine get the call they never wanted. More kids are dying from overdose. More parents are left shattered and broken. More futures are being buried because of one deadly substance: fentanyl.

This poison is the #1 killer of young people in America. And it’s being pushed into our schools, our social media, and our streets — while lawmakers hold press conferences and issue statements. That’s not enough. We need action.

We are demanding:

A national task force to eliminate drug trafficking on social media platforms

Harsher penalties for drug dealers who target minors

Real-time tracking of fentanyl imports and tougher border crackdowns

Federal funding for school-based drug prevention and youth recovery programs

Expanded mental health and addiction services for teens and families

Official classification of fentanyl trafficking as a national emergency

This petition is for every mom who’s cried on the floor. Every dad who’s begged someone to listen. Every child who didn’t know what was in the pill they took.

We can’t keep losing our babies. We can’t keep locking them up instead of helping them heal. And we sure as hell can’t wait any longer.

It’s time to get fentanyl off our streets, off our apps, and out of our children’s lives.
