Celebrate Food, Freedom, and Family — Help Make Meat Day a National Holiday
Every third Saturday in June, something special happens in our community: we gather to celebrate Meat Day, a grassroots tradition built around the joy of food, the warmth of family, and the pride of being together in red, white, and blue.
What began in 2020 as a small backyard cookout among a few friends, has grown into a beloved summer holiday—complete with decorations, games, food, and festivities that bring people of all ages together.
Over the past five years, Meat Day has become more than a BBQ. It’s a tradition—a day where neighbors become friends, kids make core memories, and everyone pauses to appreciate connection and community. Our celebration includes:
- “Meat Day” yard signs with custom mascots
- Patriotic lawn inflatables and yard décor
- A steak-shaped piñata (home made!) filled with red-white-and-blue treats
- “My First Meat Day” buttons for first-time guests
- Multi-generational participation, games, and laughter
Meat Day is intentionally inclusive. There’s no one way to celebrate—whether you’re grilling ribs, hot dogs, or smoking a brisket, everyone is welcome at the table. What matters is coming together!
We are now seeking to have Meat Day formally recognized by the National Day Calendar as an official U.S. observance. While there are individual meat-themed food days (like National Brisket Day), no existing holiday captures the spirit of togetherness, playfulness, and patriotism that defines Meat Day.
This is not a marketing campaign or commercial promotion—it’s a celebration born out of love, joy, and American tradition.
We’re asking for your help to gather at least 500 signatures to show the National Day Calendar that Meat Day has meaning, momentum, and a growing national following.
🥩 How to Celebrate Meat Day in Your Community
Meat Day isn’t just a celebration—it’s a movement! Whether you’re a backyard grill master, a BBQ competition champ, or simply someone who appreciates the art of a perfectly seasoned cut, there are countless ways to honor Meat Day on the third Saturday of June:
🔥 Host a Community or Backyard BBQ
Bring neighbors, friends, and family together with a block-party-style cookout. Feature local meats, regional recipes, and side dishes that showcase your area’s flavor.
🍖 Support Local Butchers and Farmers
Visit your neighborhood butcher or farmers market and stock up on quality cuts. Use this day to promote local meat purveyors and savor what your region does best.
🍔 Grill-Off Competitions
Organize a friendly grill-off, rib cook-off, or burger showdown. Keep it casual or go all-out with judging panels and taste tests!
📸 Celebrate Online
