Two enormous Battery Energy Storage Systems are are proposed for sites very close to residential neighborhoods, Casa Grande High School, a Kaiser Medical Facility, the historic Mariano Vallejo Adobe, and only a few miles from downtown Petaluma. The sites are too close to an active and very potent earthquake fault and also too close to the local airport runway traffic pattern zones.

There have been fires and serious accidents associated with lithium battery storage projects that call for closer scrutiny. The rush to build these enormous energy storage facilities in close proximity to population centers should be suspended until siting and safety criteria are established and thorough tests conducted.

We support a full EIR (Environmental Impact Report) emphasizing relocating the proposed project sites and including independent expert testimony to disclose ALL environmental, property, safety, and health risks.
