Jose was detained over for a minor traffic violation a few weeks ago and is currently facing deportation. Jose has been in the United States since he was a minor and he has gone to school like any other student graduated from high school and is current student in one of our local university. Jose is a very hard working student with and over 3.0 GPA who is also extremely involved on many association and organizations through his campus community. Jose will be a senior at school this semester and it will be heart breaking if he is forced to live his studies, friends and family behind. We need your help to keep Jose here. Please take a few minutes to sign this petition and stop Jose's deportation.
- Department of Homeland Security
I the undersigned am writing your office to request that you take action to stop the deportation of Jose Rodriguez and the separation of his family. Jose is facing deportation because of a traffic violation. However, Jose is a very promising young man with a bright future ahead of him. He is a model student, dedicated to his studies and extremely involved in his campus community. It is clear that Jose would qualify for the DREAM Act, a narrowly tailored bill that majorities in both the House and the Senate voted to support this past December and was recently re-introduced. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and President Obama have both stated that deporting DREAM-eligible youth, who are dedicated to giving back to this country, is not a priority. His removal would have drastic consequences to him, and we hope you will allow him to remain with his family, graduate from his studies at his University and continue to be a contributing member of our community here in Nashville.
