Don't Increase the Brampton Transit fare

The Issue

This is important for all the individuals who ride Brampton Transit regularly, whether it's to school, work, or just to do every day activities one does. I decided to start this because I currently live in Brampton and attend a post secondary school, which ultimately means my mode of transportation is riding Brampton Transit. I find it unfare (pun intended) how for the past 2 years the fare has risen, but yet we the passengers have received the short end of the stick.

As some of you may know, effecive March 31 the bus fare for ADULTS will be increasing to $3.75, $2.80 for e-purse, $31 for weekly passes and $118 for monthly. http://www.brampton.ca/EN/residents/transit/Fares/Pages/Fares_Preview_March312014.aspx

The fare was raised not only in 2011, but in 2013 as well, and now they're raising it AGAIN in 2014. (For transit fare price increase history visit http://transit.toronto.on.ca/archives/weblog/2012/03/11-brampton_t.shtml)

Ultimately, I believe this petition can make a difference seeing as we already pay enough for our transit, and many of us have enough expenses to worry about without having to continuously worry about digging into our pockets in order to pay for our mode of transportation each year.
