Help Keep Birch Family Services - Early Intervention Classroom Operation OPEN
Help Keep Birch Family Services - Early Intervention Classroom Operation OPEN
The Issue
Early Intervention makes a difference. It can change your child's life and your family's life. Early Intervention targets children (birth to three years old) and provides them with a "head start in closing developmental gaps that may have arisen because of a diagnosed disability or 'at-risk' condition in their lives. EI enhances their overall development by teaching them skills that other kids their age acquire naturally." (James Ball, ED.D, BCBA).
However, as crucial as EI services are to a child's life, they are constantly at risk due to budget cuts.
As of May 31, 2011, Birch Family Services - Early Intervention Classroom Operation will be shut down due to budget cuts. Hundreds of children will be displaced. Many may not get the services mandated on their IEPs. Children's progress will become stagnant. Many may regress. Families will suffer.
Please - help us keep Birch open.
