The Issue

New Port Richey, Florida, Judith Allen, has been in a battle for her home, a structure of historical significance very close to DOWNTOWN NPR… for over 19 years. Judith has continued to fight against the odds, against policies that seem to be structured to force her out of her beloved, historic house.

Since 2017 she has lived w/o hot water, no heat or a/c since 2019, and now she’s it’s hit a tipping point where she is relying on putting SIGNS in her windows for help from US!!!!! The core issue lies with the city's denial of the necessary permits for these critical repairs, despite her continuous efforts. Now let’s realize that the same authorities then cite her with violations due to these unmet repairs, making it impossible to comply with their regulations.

It's not just about one person, but about atanding against an abuse of power. To rectify this, the city needs to grant Judith the permits necessary for essential repairs immediately, allowing her to rectify the code violations.

We urge the New Port Richey city officials to reconsider their stance. We demand they act justly and with compassion. Permits for maintenance should not be a weapon against homeowners. Society progresses by supporting its individuals and preserving its legacies.

Please join us in fighting for Judith Allen’s right to live in her historic home, to live with dignity, and preserve her piece of history. Sign this petition to let the authorities know we stand united, and we will not allow them to strip a resident of their well-deserved rights.
