Help Get Senate Co-sponsors for SB 819, the Autism Treatment Acceleration Act of 2009!
The Issue
Are YOUR Senators on the List of Co-Sponsors?
As of May 28, 2009 there are ten Senate co-sponsors of the Autism Treatment Acceleration Act (ATAA) of 2009.
What is the ATAA?
“Building on the overwhelmingly bipartisan Combating Autism Act of 2006, the ATAA legislation includes a (an):
- demonstration project to develop Autism Care Centers, which would be comprehensive treatment facilities that provide a full array of medical, behavioral, mental health, educational and family care services to individuals and families in a single location:
- demonstration project to provide an array of services to adults with autism spectrum disorders;
- voluntary population-based autism case registry;
- national multimedia campaign focused on needs throughout the lifespan;
- Interdepartmental Coordinating Committee to build upon the work of the existing Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee;
- National Network to strengthen linkages between existing research and service initiatives
- national training initiative on autism.”
TAKE ACTION NOW!
THERE ARE THREE IMPROTANT THINGS YOU CAN DO:
1. View the list of ATAA cosponsors to see if your Senators are on the list!
2. Call your Federal Senator's office and ask him/her to become a cosponsor!
3. Send an email to your Federal Senators urging them to become cosponsors!
