Evening everyone, 

Sorry for the late message, it's been another busy day, I had hoped to get round to this earlier. 

First and foremost, thank you all so much! This week has been crazy busy, we've got two consultations closing today which we've sent responses to and there was that letter to the deputy director of Ofgem, and you guys really delivered.

I've literally got thousands of emails in my inbox that I'm going to go through this weekend and sort into folders so I can see how many emails we sent on each topic, but I wanted to take a moment and just thank you all for your incredible commitment to taking the reigns on our energy market. This is exactly what I hope the future of The Regulator Guy will be, with thousands of us getting involved in any consultation that impacts our bills, telling Ofgem what we think and working to ensure we get fair prices for our energy! All my work would be for nothing if it weren't for all of you, so thank you again for your support and for your hardwork on these consultations.

Right, the links at the top, here's what we've got tonight:

1. The Standing charges consultation closes today, so if you haven't responded yet, and you want to get involved, please click the link and follow the instructions. 
2. Similarly, the Smart Meter Net Cost Change (SMNCC) window for response closes today as well, they'll accept responses up until midnight I believe, so if you want to get involved please click the link and follow the instructions. 
3. The third link shows the letter we've been bombarding Ofgem with. There's no deadline on that but I strongly urge everyone to read it and send it on if you agree. My main point is that we've been waiting patiently for 2 years for Ofgem to review headroom allowance, now is the time for them to actually listen to us and get rid of it!
4. The final link is to Uswitch, I recommend switching to a fixed rate tariff before October, the tariffs will only get worse from then onwards, as will your variable tariffs, this is the best way to take control of your energy bills this winter. Do not look at anything called "variable" or "tracker", they will increase every 3 months with the price cap over the coming winter and the spring next year. If you're with Octopus energy, I actually recommend going to them directly and moving to their 15-Month fixed, it's almost as cheap as British Gas's tariff at the moment but it has £0 exit fees and it lasts for 15 months, giving you protection in the longer term if prices go up next year, and offering you the ability to leave early without a charge next year if prices go down, its a good deal.
