Ofgem Announce Increased Price Cap From 1 January 2023

Hi all,

Just a quick update, Ofgem have announced an increase in the Price Cap by 21% from 1 January 2023. While we know that we're all protected by the Energy Price Guarantee (EPG), it's important to remember that government money is being wasted on private energy company profits during this time. And we will all eventually have to pay the government back, either through higher taxes or further government spending cuts!

The article I've written below shows that between January and March 2023 the EPG will cost the government around £15bn but over £4bn is unnecessary wastage!

I have a meeting with Ofgem next week where I will discuss some of our concerns and try to get the changes we need pushed through as quickly as possible.
