Ellesmere Port is a town that is quickly in decline. Business owners are struggling, local residents are struggling. 

car parking is a real issue in the town centre. Either parking permits for residential areas are needed or you have to use the main shopping centre car park. 

the main carpark is ideal for business owners and shoppers alike. But has recently been made into a complete nightmare to use. A maximum of 4 hours parking is allowed, which rules out all business owners or employees of the town centre being able to use it, aswell as limiting shoppers time. 

the prices have risen a few times and have made it even more less desirable for people to visit the town centre - resulting in a massive loss of footfall and deserted areas of town. 

you don’t even get value for money with this car park. Issues in recent times are as follows.

•drain leaking raw sewage all over a large portion of the car park, making all the local shops having to deal with a terrible smell. This lasted for over a month. 
•parking machines never work correctly, if at all. Making them unable to be used. You then get a parking fine for not having a ticket. 
•used needles over various areas of the car park 
•human and dog faeces absolutely EVERYWHERE
•litter almost on every single car parking space, including broken glass.

its worth noting that the carpark is almost 90% empty except directly outside asda. Showing that nobody is visiting smaller businesses. 

we need change. Either an affordable full day parking pass to be purchased at a fair rate for employees of the area, free parking for the first 2 hours or just a completely new system implemented to help the area and people who work there. 

something needs to be done before Ellesmere Port town centre ends up entirely empty and void of any business.
