Dear Friends of Boulder’s Great Horned Owls,
Thank you for signing the Owl Preserve Petition.
Below is information from another organization that is also working towards stopping high density development near Twin Lakes. Please consider becoming involved in their organization too.
Also watch for upcoming event announcements including Owl Interpretive Hikes and a Party at the Owl Preserve - the week starting Jan 17, 2016 is being declared Boulder Owl Week!

Six months ago, a group of Gunbarrel residents formed the Twin Lakes Action Group (TLAG), representing 14+ neighborhoods. Our mission is to preserve the rural residential look and feel of our neighborhoods and the surrounding areas.
This is a quick message to let you know of four EASY yet POWERFUL things you can do:
1) Join TLAG's Google Email Group
https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en#%21forum/twin-lakes-action-group
and "Like" TLAG on Facebook.
https://www.facebook.com/TwinLakesActionGroup/
You will get important updates and also grow our membership.
2) Sign TLAG’s Petition: Protect Gunbarrel’s Local Wildlife through the Creation of a Greater Twin Lakes Open Space – Stop City Annexation and High Density Growth
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/no-leap-frog-annexation-and-densification-in
3) Get involved:
* Read TLAG's excellent legal position paper.
http://tlag.org/tlags-position-paper-and-supporting-documents/
* Attend our weekly meetings
* Donate—TLAG is an all-volunteer organization but has hired an excellent lawyer, so we are in need of tax-deductible donations.

4) Spread the word - forward this email to friends and neighbors.
Now is the time to act! Critical meetings with the County Commissioners and City Council are approaching on Jan. 26 and Feb. 2. These meetings will help decide the fate of the fields on Twin Lakes Road—whether they are preserved as Open Space...or annexed into the City, re-zoned and developed as high-density rentals.
Increasing density will impact all of Gunbarrel by increasing traffic, congestion and road degradation. It will also negatively impact Twin Lakes Open Space and the diverse wildlife, including owls, great blue herons, red foxes and migratory birds. Finally, we have been told that other properties in Gunbarrel are being looked at for similar high-density rental development, so help us stop explosive growth in Gunbarrel.
Help shape Gunbarrel's future! Let’s show City and County elected officials and staff that Gunbarrel residents want a say in the future of our community.
Warm regards,
Dave Rechberger - TLAG Chairman
