Your support can help build a Dedicated Outdoor Bike Park for Our Community in DY8/DY6 area 🚲🌿

I'm launching this petition to support the creation of a dedicated outdoor bike park — a safe, exciting, and inclusive space where riders of all ages and abilities can come together, stay active, build confidence, and enjoy the outdoors.

Working alongside the local Council, the aim is to develop a multi-use bike park within the DY8/DY6 postcode area, benefiting residents across Stourbridge, Wordsley, Kingswinford, Brierley Hill, Wollaston, and surrounding communities.

This facility would provide a safe and secure environment that promotes both physical and mental well being, while giving young people and families a positive place to spend time outdoors.

With growing concerns and recent government action around screen time and proposals to restrict social media access for under-16s, projects like this are more important than ever. A bike park would offer young people a healthy alternative — encouraging exercise, face-to-face social interaction, confidence-building, and outdoor activity.

At the moment, many local young riders, my sons and their friends included, have little or no safe space to practice and enjoy the sport responsibly. As a result, some children are resorting to carrying foldable shovels in their bags and building their own jumps and trails in local woodland areas. While this shows real passion, creativity, and enthusiasm for biking, it is neither ideal nor safe — and highlights the urgent need for a properly designed, supervised space where they can ride safely and legally.

Ideally this facility would be easily accessible by foot, pedal power and road, would offer food and drink facilities and amenities, be staffed with all profits being ploughed back into the facility to ensure an up to date and safe environment. 

A designated community bike park would provide:
✅ A safe place for children and adults of all abilities to ride on their doorstep
✅ A healthy, active community space promoting 
✅ Opportunities to learn new skills and build friendships
✅ A positive investment in our local area
✅ A chance to help regenerate and make better use of local countryside space
