I am concerned that our news and social feeds continue to pepper us with stories of racism and discrimination, sure signs that we are not getting any better at how we deal with ‘The Other,’ people who are ‘not like us’.
The solution: Respect, compassion, empathy and understanding.
It seems so simple, yet reports of hate do not appear to be subsiding. In fact, they’re getting worse. And it’s holding back our progress as a society. The collateral damage is incalculable. Certainly, we can do better.
But we need to stand up for what’s right… and decent.
For this, we need an understanding of the problem at hand. We need good information that will allow us to be better allies.
So today, I’m asking for your help in sharing a valuable resource.
More specifically, I am asking you simply to share a link to the website I’ve created to help in the much-needed effort to eliminate hate.
The website is your one-stop address in the fight against racism and discrimination.
It’s an attempt to deal with and understand a problem that just won’t go away, and, in fact, may be getting worse. It’s a veritable treasure trove of, dare I say, racially motivated (but in a good way) stuff to stir the soul, encourage thought, build understanding, initiate discussion and inspire action – a little something for the ’discriminating’ palate, if you will.
But it can only be effective if we are able to get it in the hands of many.
If we are to truly make this world a better place, we can’t underestimate the power of the individual. Each one of us has a sphere of influence. Each one of us is a purpose-driven army of one unleashing their capacity for good. And that is the most powerful army of all.
So what can you do?
