Help bring a community garden to Slater Park

The Issue

Hello my name is Destini Edwards I'm 20 and a mother of two I'm a full time student and I'm starting this petition for a community garden at Slater Park we're young and old can go and mingle with like-minded individuals and even give input on different seeds to be made available to everyone. we would till one of the sections of land at Slater Park to make room for a community garden in which there will be buckets of different seeds available to the public that consists of flowers, vegetables, and herbs. A fun place to take your children if you want to teach them to grow sustainably or just wanting to play I'm the dirt. This venture God willing will also help curve the hunger problem in Rhode Island by allowing the grown food that was grown by residents of Rhode Island for Rhode Islanders to eat. This garden could be a real turning point for the hunger problem in Rhode Island. Think of a completely 100% sustainable garden where anyone who's hungry could go and get fruits vegetables and herbs to put on their veggies. Not only could this be a cost-effective alternative to paying for buildings filled with canned goods that have a lot of unhealthy preservatives and gross extra chemicals. It would also be giving Rhode Islanders a chance to do what humanity does best, people helping people this could be a beginning to something beautiful and with heavy optimism in a few years time other states might follow in this great example and add other unique foods to their sustainable community garden. The future is here and I urge you to be apart of the making of history thank you so much for your time and energy!
