Further update
So the news today wasn’t as we had hoped..
Alfies heart is showing that it’s tired and that there has been some damage to his heart. The damage is minimal, but because Alfie still need treatment they have decided that they are going to Medicare to help his heart.
They are going to give Alfie a drug that will open his vessels a little wider to help his heart and not make it work quite so hard. Long term this could mean medication for the rest of his life.
They will start him on a low dose next week and increase it in 4 weeks time.
I’m a little shocked at the moment with the news so please bear with me

*******************************************Yesterday Alfie had his Hickman Line flushed and cleaned, a dressing change and bloods taken. The bloods they took have shown Alfie has a low platelet count....they have been around 147 since May 2017 and yesterday they are just 57. The risk of a low platelet count is mainly haemorraging.
Today Alfie has an appointment at the echocardiogram clinic. Alfie said at his last appointment that his heart sounds funny, even going so far as to record the sound himself.
It is a worry that the treatment that he has had over the years could have effected his heart. We was warned that the effects of chemotherapy could cause damage to heart.
Please keep us in your thoughts today for a positive outcome
