The Courtyard Cafe is used by many, many local residents as a place to meet, eat and chat. Many residents, particularly the elderly and disabled, use the cafe on an almost daily basis for getting a hot meal and some much-needed company. The cafe provides excellent opportunities for local people to get much needed work experience too. People throughout the village appreciate and use this essential local service.

"The Papworth Trust helps disabled people achieve equality, choice and independence" according to the Charity Commission. The Courtyard Cafe contributes to all of these purposes in addition to serving the local community.

We ask you to reconsider this decision. However, if for some reason the Papworth Trust is genuinely cannot continue to run the cafe long-term then we ask at the very least that you continue to remain open until you can find someone else who can keep the cafe open along the same lines as at present.
