Key worker status for family member of care home residents.
The Issue
We need to roll out across the UK a scheme that gives key worker status to a family member to visit their loved one who is a resident of a care home. It’s time for this government to stop talking about trials. Time is running out. We need UK government to take action to make sure our loved ones know they have not been abandoned. Elderly people with dementia cannot wait! Boris Johnson and Helen Whately our families need you to make this happen now. Social Care minister Helen Whately continues promising a trial scheme. Stop talking about trial schemes. People with dementia don’t have time to wait for a trial scheme. Every day without visits from their loved ones elderly people are losing hope and slip a little further away. Let’s get this scheme rolled out across the UK. My mother Lilian Todd is a care home resident in Hull she has severe Parkinson’s and increasing dementia. She is confused and upset most days. We are one of thousands of UK families forced to watch our loved ones suffer. We can’t hold their hand or give them a hug. It’s an appalling situation and this government is not doing anything apart from talking about maybe doing a trial. With key worker status one of my family members could regularly sit with my mam, hold her hand, give her a hug, and reassure her. Please sign this petition now.
