Hegseth Fired 24 Generals and Brought His Wife to Classified Meetings. Enough.

Hegseth Fired 24 Generals and Brought His Wife to Classified Meetings. Enough.
The Issue
America's military is in the hands of a man who is running it like a personal fiefdom.
Since taking over as Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth has fired or forced the retirement of 24 generals and senior commanders. About 60 percent of those pushed out have been Black or female, the direct result of an ideological purge designed to reshape the military in Hegseth's image rather than strengthen it as a fighting force.
In their place, Hegseth has filled his inner circle with family and loyalists. His brother Phil has been installed as a senior Pentagon advisor. His attorney, Tim Parlatore, who has also represented Donald Trump, has been brought inside. And now, according to reports, Hegseth has been bringing his wife, Jennifer Rauchet, a former Fox News producer with no military background and no known security clearance, to sit in on meetings with Pentagon staff.
It is unclear what role, if any, she plays. That is precisely the problem.
While Hegseth has been busy redecorating the Pentagon with family members, the actual day-to-day running of the Department of Defense, which employs roughly three million military and civilian personnel, has fallen to Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Feinberg, a billionaire hedge fund manager with no military experience.
Meanwhile, experts are sounding alarms. Retired Army Major General Paul Eaton warned that Hegseth's actions mirror the Project 2025 playbook for creating ideologically pure armed forces loyal to the president rather than the Constitution. Former Army Colonel Kevin Carroll called the current state of the Pentagon simply "disarray."
"It's crazy," Carroll said.
Hegseth has shown no remorse. At a recent congressional hearing, he defended the purge by accusing previous Pentagon leadership of focusing on "height, social engineering, race and gender." He has reportedly grown increasingly paranoid about being fired himself, further destabilizing the department he was entrusted to lead.
A Secretary of Defense who is purging experienced commanders, installing family members in sensitive positions, and allowing an unauthorized civilian to sit in on Pentagon meetings is not fit for the job. Jennifer Rauchet should never have been in those rooms. And Pete Hegseth should no longer be running the Department of Defense.
Sign this petition to demand Hegseth's immediate resignation, the removal of all unauthorized personnel including family members from Pentagon access, and a full congressional investigation into the politically motivated purge of America's military leadership.
