The Issue
Over the Congressional recess, let them hear you :)
Dog Days of Health Care Reform :)
Congress needs to hear from you today! Advocate for meaningful change in health care by attending a local event with your U.S. Representative or Senator in the coming week.
Your members of Congress will probably be in your state over the July 4th holiday and hosting or attending public events. On July 7, when they return to Washington, the House and Senate will begin finalizing legislation that will change our health care system forever.
The National Health Council is mobilizing advocates like you from all across the country to take action now. It will be the collective patient voice that will make the difference in this debate, so speak up!
Click here for information about your elected representatives’ district offices. Contact them to find out if your Representative or Senator will be holding or attending any public events. If you are attending an event, print a copy of the NHC five principles of health care reform and bring them to the meeting with you. Tell us how the conversation went with your elected official. Post it on our Facebook page or send it to us. The 5 people who submit the best stories will have their names considered for a potential advertisement going to members of Congress! Can’t attend a meeting or public event? Send a letter

urging your elected representatives to support meaningful health care legislation that includes these Five Principles.
Make sure health care reform is enacted this year by forwarding this message to 5 of your friends!
Thank you for standing with us and the more than 133 million Americans with chronic conditions and their family caregivers. For more information about this effort or if you have any questions, please contact Emily Noonan at enoonan@nhcouncil.org. By working together we can make sure our country has health care that Puts Patients First.
