This petition is important because currently Type 1 Diabetic children take multiple insulin injections daily which can cause undue stress and discomfort.   This I-Port product reduces the number of skin piercings from 120 a month down to 10 as the device acts as a canula which only needs to be changed every 3 days.    There is a severe embargo on staff in the HSE resulting in countless Type 1 Children in Ireland being denied access to Insulin Pumps.   This is the next best option and we would like the HSE to please put a plan in place to make this product available in Ireland as a matter of top priority.
